Discussions about the thrill of the Great Outdoors
Teachers of environmentalian can learn practical experiences by visiting Yellostone National Park
He or she can combine theory with practice by the site visit. He can study the species of plants and animals. The experience also can make the class more interesting than just teaching students theory of environmentalian.
What is the prettiest national park you have ever been to?
What is the prettiest National Park you have ever been to? So far mine has been the Smokey Mountain National Park.
Lion deaths in the Gir National Park
By October 2005 from the time I visited Sasan Gir National park and Sanctuary, famous for being one of the few only habitats of Asiatic lions left, Seven lions died in mysterious conditions. One particular incident which came in the news was particularly gruesome. www.asiatic-lion.org/news/news-0511.htmlMany more death reports followed this particular news report. And government is still in denial. No one knows now exactly how many of them are alive. Or what their actuall numbers are. If we are not careful, soon from being restricted to only Sasan Gir Sanctuary, the great Asiatic Lions would soon be extinct or only found in captivity. Which would be an absolute shame. Why are we so insensitive to animals? People who justify killing forget that we, the humans have intruded into their territory and reduced their natural prey. What do you expect, that these carnivores will just go and sit in some corner of the ever reducing habitat. There have been cases where the lions have died due to negligence of the authorities. Read the following news report.www.thaindian.com/newsportal/india-news/open-wells-being-covered-to-save-asiatic-lions-in-gir_10041994.htmlWhat do...
Glacier National Park
Has anyone been there? I have and it was the best time I have ever had. I miss it so much, and as soon as I get enough cash I'm moving there. It really is a blast.
Montana Glacier National Park is losing all its glaciers
Yes because of global warmer glaciers that have been the whole reason for the name of Montana's Glacier Nationl park are melting away. These glaciers have been there for millions of years and soon they will not exist anymorehttp://www.livescience.com/environment/060324_glacier_melt.htmlDo you follow the news on global warming?\Are you aware of the dire consequences that will occur because of global warming?

What is the nicest national park closest to you?
Yellowstone National Park
Have you ever visited Yellowstone National Park, the America's first national park? I unfortunately never visited it.
what is your favorite national park?
lately, i've been feeling the need to visit my favorite national park which is Yosemite located in northern california. we usually go during the spring months when the waterfalls are at their fullest and the rivers are roaring with the freshest water melted by the soft white snow still covering the large majestic boulders that bring fascination and mystery to the park...i miss it so. what's your favorite national park?
Wild Fires near Yosemite National Park
I do not know how many of you have head about the wild fire that is raging near Yosemite National Park. It started last Friday afternoon from a spark when someone was target practicing. I know that does not sound like it would start a fire let alone such a devastating fire. California is in a draught right now and we have not had our average eleven inches of rain the last two years. Everything is very dry especially in the foothills and mountains. I am writing this because where the fire is I was raised. I grew up in El Portal that is on Highway 140 just outside the gates of Yosemite National Park. They are about 15-20 miles away from the fire and have not had electricity since Saturday. The power lines where burned that go to El Portal and Yosemite on Saturday. I have several friends in El Portal that I am worried about. I am worried because the one’s in El Portal without power the weather has been very hot and then it has been hotter because of the fire. In Midpines and Mariposa I have friends who live on Colorado Road. This is one of the roads that are closed off and the people are evacuated. I have a pair of friends how live down that road that I have not been able to...
